HID technique

Direct HairImplantation ( DHI ) is a surgical method of hair restoration similar to the FUE technique, but using slightly different tools and approach.

In an IHD hair transplant procedure, the surgeon uses a tool called an implant pen to make incisions in the recipient area of the scalp, directly before the implantation of each hair follicle. The implant pen is equipped with a fine, hollow needle that allows the surgeon to place each hair follicle in a precise position in a controlled manner.

Then, the hair follicles are extracted from the donor area of the scalp, usually at the back of the head, using a micro-punch or a specialized instrument called an “implanter pen”, which preserves the quality and health of the follicles. The follicles are then sorted into follicular units and prepared for transplantation.

Once the incisions have been made in the recipient area, each follicular unit is inserted directly into the incision using the implant pen. This technique allows for more precise and controlled implantation, which can reduce the risk of damage to the hair follicles and improve the results of the transplant.

The DHI technique may be preferred by some patients because it is less invasive than FUE and does not leave linear scars in the donor area. However, the procedure can be longer and more expensive than FUE due to the use of specialized tools.
