Dental implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of medically pure titanium or titanium alloy, resembling a cylindrical or conical screw. After a period of 2 to 5 months after the initial dental treatment, the jawbone grows around the dental implant and once it is well consolidated, the dental implant can receive permanent teeth, crowns or bridges.

Before dental implants are placed, criteria such as the patient’s overall health, the general condition of the mouth, and the quality and volume of the jawbone are evaluated. Dental implant placement is performed in two phases, first the implant is inserted into the jawbone, then a period of 3 to 6 months is required to obtain sufficient healing around the dental implant.
